  1. RALLY THE GLOBE NEXT EVENTS

  2. ABOUT US …a new name but we’re old hands. We have experience of planning and delivering events on all six continents. Between us, we have clocked up thousands of miles of rallying around the world and some of us have been lucky enough to have a career as motorsport professionals. Our passion has driven us to found Rally the Globe as a commercial but not-for-profit members’ club that returns us to the original spirit of our sport. Our club supports a broad family of motorsport enthusiasts who want to explore the world in historic and classic vehicles. We organise endurance category rallies which are competitive, with significant off-road sections and challenge us through all the continents of the world.

  3. Event Categories Each of the events at Rally the Globe gives participants a unique experience as they explore a particular region of the world. Within these welcome limitations, these diverse events are loosely grouped into one of four Event Categories to give an indication of the relative levels of complexity, length, endurance and driving challenge that participants can expect. In an ascending order of perceived “toughness” the Event Categories are: Our Carreras are all asphalt events, with hotels along the route chosen for luxury, quirkiness, or because of nearby historic rally cars highlights. The events will usually be between one and two weeks long.

  4. The competition on the Carrera will always include two or three Regularity Sections per day, with a Test featuring on most days. Where possible, we will use permanent race circuits for our Tests. The Carreras are designed to be friendly, sociable events, without overcrowding, to enable you to get to know all the other entrants over drinks in the bar and shared meals throughout the course of the event. Our shortest events, up to one week in length, will normally have a specific theme eg Vintage Rallies exclusively for pre-war cars, Generations Rallies for family pairings, etc. They will often spend more than one night in each hotel to focus on a thorough exploration of one or two specific regions.

  5. Vehicle Age Categories Rally the Globe promotes a wide range of events, some of which are targeted at different ages of vehicle. Across all these events we apply a single, consistent set of Age Category definitions. These Age Categories will form the basis of any class competition. Different Age Categories may on occasion have different routes and time schedules if necessary. Cars will be categorised by the date when their individual technical specification was first built. This approach means that all cars of the same specification will run in the same Age Category irrespective of the date of build or registration of the individual car. A – Pre-war A1 – Pioneer – cars of a specification built up to 31/12/1918 A2 – Vintage – cars of a specification built up to 31/12/1930 A3 – Post Vintage – cars of a specification built up to 31/12/1945

  6. CARRERA BAVARIA RECCE REPORT Day 0 Jim Smith and I, reunited on recce together for the first time since Ypres to Istanbul, back in the dark days of Covid, met up in Kronberg on the outskirts of Frankfurt. With our trusty Rally the Globe Hilux 02 and its wheel driven Monit trip at our disposal, we set a relatively long calibration route starting and finishing at the event hotel. Schloss Kronberg is a magnificent venue from which to start a Carrera event and is steeped in history. A fine Italian meal in town and an early night followed for the recce crew.

  7. AUSTRIA TO ATHENS CHALLENGE Taking place from 30 September to 13 October, the two-week competitive rally will traverse 4,000km across seven European countries, starting in the Austrian Alps and finishing by the warm waters of the Aegean Sea. Highlights will include Slovenian picture-postcard landscapes; exceptional seascapes on the Dalmatian Coast; the historical towns, bridges and bazaars of Bosnia & Herzegovina; sinuous mountain roads in Montenegro; regular reminders of the communist past in Albania; and delightful driving in the Pindos mountains and Acropolis Rally heartlands in Greece.
