5. Emergencies and Abandoning the Aircraft In the unlikely event of the Pilot wanting you to abandon the aircraft, the Pilot will give the instruction “JUMP, JUMP” When initiating Canopy Jettison, after removing the red handle from the canopy release latch and moving the latch rearwards, if you notice that the canopy remains closed, you should pull the canopy rearwards using the side grab handles, if also required push the roof with the palm of your hand. To undo your seat harness, you can turn the harness connector either way 90 degrees

6. Parachute Deployment You should only pull the D-ring once you are clear of the aircraft Once you have deployed your parachute, you should position your knees slightly bent with ankles and knees together.

7. Life Saving Jacket (LSJ) If abandoning an aircraft over water, you should inflate your LSJ after deploying your parachute. The inflation mechanism of the LSJ is initiated by pulling the beaded handle downwards to its full extent with either arm. If you notice that your LSJ is not fully inflated after activation, you can top it up with air by blowing into the oral inflation device on the right hand side of the LSJ. An Emergency Locator Beacon device is fitted to your LSJ to notify rescue crews of your position
