  3. How children learn through play: Play is one of the main ways in which children learn. It helps to build self worth by giving a child a sense of his or her own abilities and to feel good about themselves. Because it’s fun, children often become very absorbed in what they are doing. In turn, this helps them develop the ability to concentrate ..

  4. The Importance of Learning while playing 1. Playing with dough, drawing and painting pictures, dressing up, playing with dolls can encourage creativity, imagination and expression of feelings 2. Singing, playing simple music instruments help to develop rhythm, listening and hearing.

  5. How it Help in Your Child Development Kinderdance is a dance, basic gymnastics and fitness program designed for children ages two and up. Kinderdance uses Science and follows a methodology to deliver a structured Movement and Dance programs blending educational concepts. It is a 35 year old program proven to be the most successful in early childhood development with a pre-set curriculum

  6. Cognitive Development  Refers to how a person perceives, thinks, and gains understanding of his or her world through the interaction of genetic and learned factors.  It has been said that early movement experiences are beneficial to optimal brain development.  The stimulation children receive from dance combined with decision making exercises leave children with a mind ready to absorb information and learn new things.

  7. Physical Development  Physical development is important to anyone over the age of two years of age.  Thirty minutes of moderate endurance-type physical exercise can help children develop basic motor skills, laying a foundation for an active childhood which can motivate them to participate in other activities for years to come

  8. Social and Emotional Development  These includes a child’s development of self – including self-awareness, self- regulation and his or her ability to interact and react with other people.  Dancing together with others, helps children not only build their self-esteem but also see and appreciate that others are different than themselves.  Such peer activities can also help a child gain personal control and can lengthen their attention span

  9. Communicational skills  Communication Skills are certainly an important skill for every child to develop. Many children learn by touching everything as they learn.  Kinderdance helps children learn by watching others, and learn how to follow audible clues, such as clapping their hands to the beat of the music

  10. Interesting Information about Play-based Learning  Research shows that children who engage in complex forms of socio-dramatic play have greater language skills than non players, better social skills, more empathy, more imagination, and more of the subtle capacity to know what others mean. They are less aggressive and show more self-control and higher levels of thinking.  Standardized testing and preparation fro tests are now a daily activity inmost of the kindergarten studied, despite the fact that most uses of such tests with children under age eight are of questionable validity and can lead to harmful labeling.  In many kindergarten classrooms there is no play-time at all. Teachers say the curriculum does not incorporate play, there isn't time for it and many school administrators do not value it.

  11. How to create effective classrooms through play-based learning  Provide time and space for play to every school day, both indoors and during recess.  Mark room for all types of play that contribute to children’s development, including make-believe, sensory, language, construction, large and small motor, and mastery play.  Learn to effectively monitor and be involved in your classroom play.  Get creative and use a variety of different ways and tools to incorporate into your classroom.
