It is very difficult to find housing in the US. Every city and every suburb has thousands of homes. It's a buyers' market because there is so much supply. It's a sellers market. Average home prices are lower due to foreclosures and distressed sales. As if this were not enough, lenders have increased homebuyer credit requirements. They should have done this earlier in the market and not now.

  3. Many homes are up for sale but there are very few buyers. Sellers with equity problems often sell their homes for less than what they owe, promising to repay the bank later. Banks prefer this approach because it doesn't require them to foreclose on the home or risk losing more.

You must also pay the broker and real estate agent. This fee is an extra cost that is included in the deal. As they are unable meet the financial needs of buyers, sellers, or lenders, each incremental cost makes selling homes more difficult. The home will be left on the market, increasing the oversupply. Analysts are unsure if the vicious circle of housing crises will ever end.

Housing Think Tank participant suggested that real estate agents be allowed to step aside temporarily. This would allow for paperwork and regulations to be relaxed so that people could sell their homes without the need for agents. This would make it much easier to sell houses and close the gap. This could mean more homes being sold, and less on the market. This is something to think about and an interesting conversation.
