  2. Box office results for the top 20 films released in the UK and Republic of Ireland, 2010 As you can see, Fantasy films are the usually the most popular films in the UK and Republic of Ireland. This is because Fantasy appeals to the largest audience.

  3. The top 20 UK films As you can see in this table, the top selling UK films are UK/USA collaborations, and are also mainly fantasy films. The top three films were distributed by Warner Bros, showing that they are the biggest at distributing.

  4. The top 20 UK independent films In the Top UK Independent films charts. We can see there are not many fantasy films here. Instead it is more low budget films, mainly social realism. This is probably the region where post-apocalyptic films would be if they were to reach charts, as they are mainly done by independent film companies.

  5. Films released in the UK and Republic of Ireland by genre, 2010, ranked by gross box office Post apocalyptic films are usually placed in the Science Fiction genre. As we can see from this graph it is just above the halfway point for the most amount of sales in the UK, making it quite able to sell in the cinema if it were to be a good film.
