  3. Academic Lab on 7C Ac. Lab is a 34 minute period which meets 4 times a week to connect with students. This year it is an opportunity for students to focus on math 3 days a week. Students will review skills, makeup/enrichment time, and activities targeted to team and school goals and student needs. Fridays will be team focused with activities targeted to team and school goals and student needs.

  4. Attendance • When students miss a day, they miss a lot! • Regular attendance positively impacts student achievement. • We appreciate it if appointments and vacations can be scheduled outside of school times. • Students are expected to complete all assignments missed during absences. • Homework assignments may be requested during student absences as soon as possible.

  5. Homework Policy • Homework will be assigned by each teacher and varies from teacher to teacher. Math is usually daily. • Check student’s agenda daily. • Homework is expected to be neat, legible, on time and complete. • Budget approximately 30 – 60 minutes per night. • Check the calendar on the team webpage. • Late Practice Work will be not be accepted.

  6. Team Webpage • Additional parent communication tool. • The Team webpage does not replace the agenda; it enhances greater organization. • Updates are often by each teacher; check often. • Here it is 7C

  10. Sea Checks As your child has probably already told you we have a team currency, 7Sea Checks.  These are used for a variety of things though the year.  One of which is our AUCTION at the end of each quarter.  The kids will get to use these items to bid on fun “prizes” at the end of each quarter.  However, we need prizes.  We have a team mom that is going to help organize this, Tina Edwards has volunteered to be that person..thank you.  If you would like to either help her out, or just donate items please contact her ASAP!  tinamarieAZ@cox.net For our auction items we are looking for a variety of things that vary in cost.  Everything from nerf balls, to movie passes, to entertainment items, to little and big ‘toys’, to food coupons.

They prepare meals/snacks on select days to encourage the teachers and to show appreciation. They sell school supplies to the students who want to buy from the AMart cart, and they serve the veterans a meal following the Patriotic Day ceremony. They help photographers on picture day…you name it, they do it! The staff has learned that PTSO members just want to help in any way that makes Akimel A-al a great place to learn. There are several opportunities already needing volunteers.  By going to www.signupgenius.com and looking us up by our email address, you can see the details for them and sign up.
