  2. Nuts and Bolts • Know your strategy. • Provide students your rationale for using the strategy.

  4. Assign the strategy and make it count. • Assess students’ first attempt. Use rubric and Momentum data reporting system. • Provide feedback.

  5. Continue to assign strategy and make it count. • Provide feedback.

  6. Assess students’ final use of strategy. Use rubric and Momentum data reporting system.

  7. Additional Assessments:Gateway Courses • College Reading: 70% of students in participating sections of DSPR 0800 taking the Nelson-Denny exam will show a reading gain equivalent to a twelfth grade level. • Developmental Writing: 70% of students in participating sections of DSPW 0800 taking the Compass exam at the end of class will achieve a score required for progression to Comp I.

Additional Assessments:Gateway Courses, cont. • Comp I: 90% of the sample of students in participating ENGL 1010 sections will successfully complete (3 or above based on the scoring rubric for each of the 5 outcome areas) the research paper. • Human A&P I: 70% of all students in participating BIOL 2010 sections will successfully (score of 70 or greater) complete the common questions (which form a subset) within a final chapter exam.

Additional Assessments:Gateway Courses, cont. • Intermediate Algebra: 70% of all students in participating DSPM 0850 sections will successfully (score of 70 or greater) pass the common final exam. • College Algebra: 85% of all students in participating MATH 1130 sections will successfully (score of 73 or greater) pass the common final exam.
