Appendix B The Meridian Freedom Project Mission and Goals Mission Statement Our mission is to create a corps of academically capable, socially conscious, and mentally disciplined young leaders in Meridian, Mississippi. Goals • To create an accessible pathway to college for committed and willing middle school and high school students in Meridian • To provide quality and rigorous academic support, health and fitness, arts enrichment, character development, and educational travel with exposure to diverse experiences to all Freedom Fellows • To partner with the Meridian Public Schools, parents, City of Meridian leadership, and Meridian community to create a community-focused project for our teens • To prepare 100% of seven-year Freedom Fellows to have the choice to go to colleges or universities around the country
