  1. Q5: How did you attract/address your audience? Lauren Haigh & Rosie Knox

  2. We first began targeting our audience by doing market research. We used market research to gain information from the Horror market showing what is already out there. Including if there's a gap in the market and what is popular within the target audience.

  3. Evaluation of Market Research When first creating the survey, we thought about the types of questions we would need to ask to gain an accurate opinion of horror films, in particular, Yurei films. If we was to do this survey again I would: Think about the questions I want to ask carefully - so I do not receive answers that would not help me when creating my film. Make all questions compulsory to answer - so I had a complete sample when looking over results. Aim my survey at a wider audience - to gain a more varied opinion on the subject matter.

  4. From this we adapted the results and interpreted the audience’s answers in order to attract them for our film.

  5. Addressing the audience We allowed the audience to become involved by using two main features within our film, Music Props

  6. Music In our film we allowed the audience to have a better understand of the Yurei than the actress. The music begins as the Yurei is seen. This addresses the audience indicating that something bad is about to happen. The music continues to build tension as the sound develops. As the Yurei gets bigger the music matches allowing the audience to be aware of the unknown ‘thing’.

  7. Props The main prop within our Yurei film was the Skeleton. In the film the audience saw the moment of the Skeleton however the actress did not. This shows that the Yureiis present and this makes the audience aware that something bad is going to happen to the conventional horror victim (the actress). This allows the audience to be addressed by allowing them to see further enigma rather than being unknown of the Yurei like the actress.
