  6. TODO for you • First (pre)-steps: 1) five sources -> everybody pick a topic (if there are more than 5 people, build 5 groups)2) watch your movie (or read your book) 3) write two page summary as a group and in this summary identify several  topics that were raised by the movie or book (those topics have to be on the given theme "reality vs virtual reality") 4) send this summary to ruzica.piskac@epfl.ch by 04.04.2010 the latest 5) these topics that you identify will be your 'real' topic (if approved) • Also send a short email to the mailinglist and ruzica.piskac@epfl.ch immediately and introduce yourself: Example: "My name is XY and I am a third semester bachelor student. I will work on the topic of movie "Vanilla Sky"  "

  7. Some tips • Start to work immediately. • We want you to think and understand your topic. • Do not go to the presentation without having understood what you are presenting. • This is a seminar where you learn how to do scientific work. • If you have questions / problems – do not hesitate to ask me. • DO NOT copy! • Whenever you cite somebody, cite properly. • When you use work of somebody else, re-phrase and summarize in your own words and cite properly. • Have a look how proper citations look like (on the STI website there are plenty of papers) 7
