Prism Early Days – 1994 to 1997 • Started in 1994 as a buy-out of a payment switching business. • By 1997 had office locations; • Fourways, Sandton (Head office) and Wynberg, Cape Town (Hardware and Software Development) • Staff complement; • 15 in Johannesburg and 17 in Cape Town • Comprising 80% software development and general engineering personnel

Specific requirement : Petroleum • We had rolled out terminals into a major Petro group in SA, and had seen the problems faced by the merchants: • Reconcilliation of daily totals : Bank control • Payment problems • Site-wise velocity checking • General lack of control • Speed of VAS implementations • Multi merchant views • Payment device portability • Convenience store integration • Electronic backup • Etc… • When we investigated further, we realised that we had all the components for the perfect solution , made easier by : • Verix and portability to VerixV • VeriFone introduction of WiFi.
