If you haven’t done so already, create a PowerPoint (ppt) and name it “About Me.” HINT: You can re-save this ppt as “About Me” so you don’t have to re-type anything. • Make sure your ppt has AT LEAST six (6) slides: • Title • Culture • History • Personality • Hobbies • Goals & Hopes • Read each slide on this ppt to get ideas for yours. Each slide has questions for you to answer. What do I do?
Find a picture to represent your answer to each question. For example, since I’m from California, I might add a picture like this to my slide show: • For each picture you add, include the “Image URL” by right clicking on the picture to copy it: • When you are done, organize your slides in a way that makes sense to you. Try adding animations and transitions to make your slide show “pop.” • If you finish today, begin writing about yourself in a Word document (save it as “About Me,” too). Use the ideas from the ppt to help you as you write. What do I do? (Continued)
Culture • Where you are from • Where your family is from • Important family members • Important traditions • Important holidays
History • How old you are • Important achievements or accomplishments • Places of interest that you have been to • Places that you’ve lived
Personality • What kind of person are you (happy, friendly, shy, etc.)? • Do you have any unusual interests? • What are some things people getting to know you should know about you?
Hobbies • Sports you like to play/watch • Other games and activities you spend time on • Specific positions (in sports) or skills (like drawing, writing, etc.) that you are trying to develop
Goals & Hopes • Most important personal goal(s) for this year • What you want to be when you grow up • Somewhere you’d like to live when you grow up • One place you’d like to see in your lifetime
Once you’ve got pictures… • …add a few words to explain your images • …re-organize your slides, if needed, to make the “story of you” make more sense; tell it like you’d tell someone in person • …make sure you have URLs (web addresses) for each image. • …try using the “Design,” “Transitions,” and “Animations” tabs at the top of the window to make your work look cooler.
