You must realize that a good representation of what you know in the exam definitely results in high marks, as the examiner finds it very easy and impressive to go through an answer sheet that carries precise and neat answers. Therefore, it is advised to give the answers in a visually appealing way so that the examiner could effortlessly read the answer paper. Now let’s discuss some essential tricks that you as a student of Class 10 must follow to make your answer copy look presentable in the English board exam for Class 10: ● Leave a gap of 2 lines after answering each question so that the examiner finds it easy to differentiate between the ending of one answer and the beginning of the next one. ● Try to underline each heading or subheading in an answer which makes an answer neat and clearly visible. ● While practicing the English exam through English study material for class 10 and NCERT English book for class 10, make a habit of penciling a 2-inch border towards the right side of every page in your answer sheet, and use this space for the rough work. This way, examiner would know what to check and what to skip in the exam, along with finding your answer sheet tidy and presentable. Although English subject doesn’t need much rough work, make this a regular habit to avoid last minute chaos. ● Insert pictographic content (like web chart), wherever possible in the English exam. For this, practicing the subject through a compact English book for class 10 would be wise enough, as such books give a clear idea about the presentation skills expected in the board exam paper. Putting in pictorial content makes your knowledge evident and earn you more marks (your sole goal in any exam!). ● Avoid long paragraphs. They make your answers look boring. Rather, try to give most of the answers in short paragraphs (with sub-heads, wherever possible) or in points. To put an icing on the cake, highlight/underline the important points. ● Write all answers in the board exam in a readable handwriting and try to keep it same throughout the paper. This will develop uniformity in your answer sheet, eventually making it neat and clear. ● Do not scribble or scratch an incorrectly written word/phrase/sentence. Instead, cut it by putting a dash line with your pen (for example, knowledge) on that specific text. This avoids all the mess in the answer sheet. ● What if you wrote the complete answer correctly but put the wrong question number? Having goose bumps? Well, this may be a silly mistake but may take away your marks. So, you better be very careful while writing question numbers in the answer sheet, and leave some space between question number and its answer. You would be able to deal with such errors far better if you’ve already
