  3. Six responsibilities I have to my church family: 1. warn the unruly v.14 2. Comfort the feeble minded…(grieving & fearful) v.14 3. Support the weak v.14 4. Be patient v.14 5. Do not render evil for evil v.15 6. follow what is good v.15

  4. Matthew 5:39-44(NKJV) But I tell you not to resist an evil person. But whoever slaps you on your right cheek, turn the other to him also.  40If anyone wants to sue you and take away your tunic, let him have your cloak also.  41And whoever compels you to go one mile, go with him two.

  5. 42Give to him who asks you, and from him who wants to borrow from you do not turn away. 43“You have heard that it was said, ‘You shall love your neighbor £ and hate your enemy.’  44But I say to you, love your enemies, bless those who curse you, do good to those who hate you, and pray for those who spitefully use you and persecute you,

  6. Romans 12:17-21 Repay no one evil for evil. Have regard for good things in the sight of all men.  18If it is possible, as much as depends on you, live peaceably with all men.  19Beloved, do not avenge yourselves, but rather give place to wrath; for it is written, “Vengeance is Mine, I will repay,” £ says the Lord.  20Therefore “If your enemy is hungry, feed him; If he is thirsty, give him a drink; For in so doing you will heap coals of fire on his head.”21Do not be overcome by evil, but overcome evil with good.

  7. 1 Peter 3:9 not returning evil for evil or reviling for reviling, but on the contrary blessing, knowing that you were called to this, that you may inherit a blessing.
