The Mission of Friend to Friend • It is the mission of Friend to Friend to promote affordable wellness programs that will empower our clients to create personalized programs to meet individual needs.  • It is the mission of Friend to Friend to assist family caregivers with the creation of a home care plan that will enable them to care for their loved one at home. • It is the mission of Friend to Friend to help employers create safe, effective, low cost, quality worksite wellness programs, that will enhance company wellness efforts and increase productivity.

  4. Geriatric Care Management

  5. Geriatric Care Manager • Creates a personalize care plan for problems / challenges that may occur in the life of an older adult • Monitors care plan • Adjusts care plan as needed • Educates client and family members

  6. Questionnaire • Series of questions to determine best care plan for client and family / caregiver

Services • Caregiver Skills Training • Home safety • General care giving skills • Positioning and helping you loved ones move • Assisting with personal care • Healthy eating • Caring for the caregiver • Legal and professional issues • Caring for loved one with Alzheimer’s or Dementia • Caring for a loved one with HIV/AIDS

  8. Caregiver Training Series • Nine modules of 1 hour instructions • DVD for demonstrations • Booklet to follow DVD and to take home • Can provide booklet and DVD from American Red Cross, and review information with client and family

  9. Home Safety • Complete observation with survey

  10. Other Services • Medication review • Client and family education • Doctor /Patient Liaison • Arrange services for client / family • Check on client when family is out of town / lives long distance • CPR/First Aid/AED

  11. CPR / First Aid / AED • Train on these topics in: schools, community centers, hospitals, homes, churches, other places in need of training

  12. Train the Trainer • After 50 people trained, can get certified to train instructors • Good for business the need to conduct CPR certifications annually – will help them safe time and money

  13. Well Mom and Baby Training • When to call a doctor • Holding infant • Bathing • Temperature • Safety • Infant CPR • Babysitter Training for siblings

  14. Babysitter Training • Teaches school aged children babysitting techniques and how to start their on babysitting business • Market to community centers and schools

WorkplaceTraining • Six one hour modules: Back injury prevention, Managing stress, Workplace violence awareness, Your heart matters, Ergonomics, and Slips, Trips, and Falls • Bloodborne pathogens • CPR/AED/First Aid • Books, DVD’s, and training material available through American Red Cross or EMS Safety

  16. CNA Training • Class July 13-16 • Become certified to teach CNA Course • Goal is to train and put to work under Friend to Friend • Can also use in community centers, churches, etc to help them help members gain employment • Future plans to spread to other cities and states

  17. CNA Training • Refresher course for nursing homes, long term care, and assisted living • Target training • Sensitivity training • Mock Codes • CPR • Travel to various cities and states

CNA Back to Basics • Evaluate performance of care nurses, and provide feedback • Review skills and proper techniques • Resident / patient sensitivity training • CPR review / recertification /mock codes • Nursing homes, long term care, assisted living communities, home health, hospital settings

  19. OSHA Compliance • Make sure facilities are following OSHA regulations • Offer packets / forms to help • Provide inspection • Certified to teach bloodborne pathogen class, have booklets • Have binder with information and forms for health care employers
