  4. ~SKILLS~To enable lifelong learning • Inspiration: • Mortimer Adler’s philosophy • Mrs. Bloom – enabled me to learn beyond the classroom • Implementation: • Facilitate critical thinking– • Encourage students to ask questions on psukim and dissect meforshim • Scaffold material appropriately • Jerome Bruner Enable Lifelong Torah Learning and Living

  5. ~Teach by example~role modeling the torah lifestyle • Inspiration: • Mrs. Neuman’s personal stories • Seminary teachers’ homes • Implementation: • “Practice what you preach” • Personal anecdotes “What you do speaks so loudly that I cannot hear what you say” (Ralph Waldo Emerson) Enable Lifelong Torah Learning and Living

  6. ~Instill self-esteem and love of torah~facilitates pursuit of torah life • Inspiration: • Rabbi NoachOrlowek – • Instill self-esteem so children respect themselves, do not look elsewhere • Lack of love for Torah in homes • Implementation: To instill self-esteem: • Act with warmth and love toward my students • Differentiate Instruction so every student can shine To instill a love of Torah: • Radiate with enthusiasm = role modeling • John Dewey’s pragmatic style  active learning and thus gain ownership and love Torah
