What is Get 10? Get 10 is an emergency preparedness education program designed to have a broad appeal with simple, eye-catching graphics and an easy-to-accomplish list of things people can do to get ready for emergency situations.
Where did Get 10 come from? Get 10 is a original program of the Alabama Department of Public Health. It was created after Hurricane Katrina as a simple program to encourage emergency preparedness.
Get 10 Objectives: • To raise awareness and utilization of the Alabama Department of Public Health as an excellent resource for emergency preparedness, response, and recovery information • To encourage people to visit our website and use it as a tool to learn more about what ADPH has to offer • To increase community involvement in public health • To increase knowledge of public health among young people

Future of Get 10 • To develop Get 10 as a universally recognized resource for individual emergency preparation by working with other organizations within Alabama and surrounding states • Expand partnerships with college, high-school, and little league athletics • Establish partnerships with major retailers such as Lowes, Home Depot, Publix, and Winn Dixie • Establish relationship with Department of Tourism • Expand promotion of Get 10 for Pets by working with humane societies and veterinarians • Establish social media outlets including Facebook and phone applications • Expand relationships on college campuses for student education
