How do we use Universal Design to achieve Universally Accessible Environments ? • Ensure executive commitment • Develop a UA mandate agreed to by all parties • Formulate an inclusive UA delivery framework • Provide a UA training programme for everyone • OptimiseUA synergy in mainstream provision • Use good technical expertise and experience • Review and audit at regular intervals • Monitor implementation and operational systems

What is the relationship between standards, regulations and universal design? • Standards should : • Continue as the baseline in accessibility • Developed within an inclusive framework • Standards should be applied consistently • Universal design should: • Optimise and ensure maximum functionality • Establish synergy in mainstream provision • Be used as a vehicle for educating designers • Promote full inclusivity through UA • Expound the cost efficiencies of UA
