NMSAP Components • PARCC: accountability assessment grades 3-11 • Reading, Writing, Math • SBA: grades 4, 7, H3 (11) • Science • HSGA: grade H4 (senior retests to max of reading and math 3x and science 2x) • NMHSCE: graduation assessment for students in cohorts 2011 and earlier • NCSC, NMAPA, AAHSG for students with severe cognitive disabilities • W-APT: place students in ELL status within first 20 academic days • ACCESS for ELLs: ELL language proficiency assessment - annual • Alt ACCESS for ELLs: language proficiency for students with severe cognitive disabilities • EoCs: graduation ADC in Reading, Writing, Math, Science, Social Studies and optional use in Educator Effectiveness System (EES) • Interim Assessments: Required grades 9 and 10; optional use in EES.

Training Requirements • PARCC/SBA/HSGA • DTC/STC attends PED trainings 2x annually. • TAs must be trained by DTC/STC 2x annually. • NMAPA/AAHSG • TAs must attend training once every 3 years. • ACCESS and W-APT • Training modules online at www.wida.us. DTCs can track TA progress in online training and quizzes.

HSGA Test Window • Districts and charters may create their own schedule within allowed testing window. • Window: 9/15/14–9/26/14 • (Order tests now!) • Schedule must follow 11 requirements outlined in Secretary Skandera’s memo dated May 2012. For Seniors Only – Reading, Math, Science Paper ONLY (no CBT)

  25. About HSGA Testing Schedule • Test within PED-designated window. • No testing on materials-packaging day. • All materials must be returned on designated shipping day. (Call MP for exceptions.)

  26. About HSGA Testing Schedule • Make-up testing must occur during testing window. • Test sessions must follow order in test booklet. (Make-ups may have exceptions.) • All schools in district must follow same schedule.

  27. About HSGA Testing Schedule • No breaks during a session. • Grades 5-8 writing sessions must be administered consecutively—only a short stretch/bathroom break in between.

  28. About HSGA Testing Schedule • Test on any school day, Monday to Friday. • Test in mornings, afternoons, or both. • Schedule up to three (3) sessions per day.

PARCC/SBA Participation • All public school students must participate in an assessment: Grades 3−8, H1, H2, and H3 (H4 optional). • Students on the ability pathway (with severe cognitive disabilities) take the NCSC/NMAPA. • Students on the career and standard pathways take PARCC. Accommodations are allowed for students with IEPs. • BIE schools may use PARCC for federal accountability.

  30. Non-Participation • Students may not take PARCC or SBA if: • Parents refuse. Keep signed paperwork at district or charter school. • Counts against school for school grading.
