  3. EMOTIONS WHICH BELONG Romans 12:9-15“Let love be without hypocrisy. Abhor what is evil. Cling to what is good. Be kindly affectionate to one another with brotherly love, in honor giving preference to one another; not lagging in diligence, fervent in spirit, serving the Lord; rejoicing in hope, patient in tribulation, continuing steadfastly in prayer; distributing to the needs of the saints, given to hospitality. Bless those who persecute you; bless and do not curse. Rejoice with those who rejoice, and weep with those who weep.”

EMOTIONS WHICH BELONG • FERVENCY • “To be hot, to boil, is metaphoricaly used of fervency of spirit, Acts 18:25; Rom. 12:11.” • Lacking in the church at Laodicea “I know your works, that you are neither cold nor hot. I could wish you were cold or hot. So then, because you are lukewarm, and neither cold nor hot, I will vomit you out of My mouth. Because you say, ‘I am rich, have become wealthy, and have need of nothing’—and do not know that you are wretched, miserable, poor, blind, and naked.”REVELATION 3:14-17

  11. EMOTIONS WHICH BELONG • JOY • Philippians 3:1 - “Rejoice in the Lord” • Philippians 4:4 - “Rejoice in the Lord always. Again I will say, rejoice!” • I Thessalonians 5:16 – “Rejoice always” • Galatians 5:22 – “Joy” • Psalms 100 - “Make a joyful shout to the LORD ….Serve the LORD with gladness; Come before His presence with singing.”

  12. CHRISTIANS HAVE MUCH TO REJOICE IN: • Material possessions in abundance. • Forgiveness of sins. • Part of a great spiritual family. • Constant source of help in time of need. • Hope of eternal life.

  13. EMOTIONS WHICH BELONG • SORROW • Romans 12:15 – “Rejoice with those who rejoice, and weep with those who weep.”

TIMES FOR TEARS: • Over the sins of others – 2 Corinthians 2:4 • Over our own sins - Peter "wept bitterly” “godly sorrow”, 2 Cor. 7:10 • In our warnings to others - Acts 20:31 • In sympathy for others – John 11:35 • In our own grief and hardship – Hebrews 5:7 • In departing from others - Acts 20:36-38
