  7. GCSE Core Learning.. continuity and progression • mathematics / statistics / paired maths • English language / literature / media • Science – triple / additional / core / vocational • PE

  8. Science • Advanced science if you are making strong progress towards A level science opt for ‘Triple Science’ • Additional science could be the course to help you achieve C+ in two sciences • Improving science by continuing with existing courses • Vocational Science may be possible IF you have already achieved in GCSE

  9. Timetable • 3 options to start in June 2013: • Option 1 = 6 lessons (1 GCSE) • Option 2 = 6 lessons (1 GCSE) • Option 3 = 2 lessons (PSD) • Core (for EVERYONE): • English / maths / science / PE

  10. English Baccalaureate GCSEs at C+ needed in: • English language / mathematics / 2 sciences / • language / humanities • Continued study if not there by end of Y10 • Pupils eligible to opt for the above if not already studying

  11. Personal Dev’t Option To choose ONE of the following: Option 1: • Vocational Placement OR • School Based Placement AND • Duke of Edinburgh Option 2: • Advanced mathematics OR • Musical Instrument: Graded Exam Training NB: Supported Study or Intervention may be required instead of the above. This will depend on results.

  12. External Placement Personal Dev’t • confidence and independence • block release work experience • half day equivalent (lessons 5/6) • broaden experiences • work related behaviour

  13. School Based Placement Personal Dev’t • Limited vocational opportunities: • curriculum based • administration / reprographics / IT • maintenance / grounds work / catering • sport
