何謂助教? • 就是代課教師嗎? • 可以指導學生嗎? • 可以請假嗎? • 有什麼教師權利? Graduate Teaching Assistant (GTA)is a registered full-time graduate student chosen as a result of excellent scholarship and promise as a teacher. The GTA minimally holds a baccalaureate degree in a field that is closely related to the one in which he/she will be assisting.
助教的責任 • Under faculty supervision, the duties of a GTA may include providing help sessions; leading discussion, recitation, laboratory or quiz sections; holding office conferences with students; preparing materials for faculty-guided classroom or laboratory instruction; assisting professors in the design of a course; assisting in the design and/or preparation of exams or quizzes; proctoring examinations; and grading student papers and/or examinations to faculty guided standards. 課前—課中—課後 <學生有責任維持討論秩序、和課堂聽講應有的態度> 穿著: 整齊清潔 教材: 活動、例子(正反)、文字、圖片、影像、作業、試卷
助教之進行式一 • 講解: 口齒清楚、速度適中 • 討論: 參與小組 • 批閱: 作業、小考、期中(末)考 • 蒐集: 有助於理解的資料、時事、 (學習反應回條) • 察覺: 學生是否理解解你講解的內容 • 討論會、複習課、實驗室 • 背學生名字 • 充份了解補充教材的內容 (到班旁聽) • 充份了解實驗室安全規則 • - 依照每週教學進度或學習目標進行討論或複習 • - 有某種程度的教師權利並受到尊重和感謝
助教之進行式二 • 討論課種類 • 多人分題討論 • 分小組(適合較不敢於公眾發表意見的學生) • 辨論 • 角色扮演 • 兩人一組 • 該做該說什麼? • 問題單 • 請學生發問 • 總結(段落和之後)
助教之進行式三 • 經營良好教室氛圍的其他考量 • 有肢體障礙的學生 • 需要心理輔導的學生 • 語言能力要加強的學生 • 其他種族的弱勢學生 • 不可猜測、偏心、太常分同樣組別、人身攻擊 • 確定Office Hour • (讓學生單獨或少人有機會面對面溝通) • 申明學術專業,不可抄襲或剽竊他人作品,不可作弊 • (如果真的發生了?)
