  3. There are many types of accommodation available for the travelers.   9. Room Types: • Standard: regular size sleeping rooms. The bedding might consist of one or two double beds. • Superior: room may be located on lower floors, may have a view, may include double, queen-size or king-size bed. • De Luxe: a regular-size sleeping room. This type of room would offer the best location, the best view, and the highest level of comfort, furnishings, amenities and décor. Bedding usually includes a queen-size or king-size bed. • Suite: consist of two or more rooms, typically a living and sleeping room. A suite may have more than one bedroom or extra rooms such as kitchenette or conference room. • Double: room with a double bed that can be used for either one or two people. • Twin room: a room designed for two people with two single or ‘twin’ beds. This is an excellent choice when two people want to share a room but not a bed.

  10. The Bund • The Bund on Shanghai's waterfront is the biggest showcasing of colonial era buildings. Here, you'll learn the history and economic influences of the area through the exhibits. This renowned waterfront district is the city's most famous landmark. The word "Bund" is of Anglo-Indian origin meaning "embankment on the waterfront". Nowadays it is the ideal dating venue for lovers young and old alike. Many love to come here in evening by the side of the bund to chat and enjoy the beautiful night view with the lights illuminating the highrises by the Huangpu River.

They ask the agent to make a hotel reservation as well.) • P: We’ve booked two seats on your flight to Shanghai for next Friday. We’ve to stay over three nights there, from Oct.3rd to 5th. But we prefer to stay in the heart of the city near the shopping center. • A: I recommend ______________________________________. • P: Great!   15. Situation I • Passenger: You want to fly to San Francisco by way of Tokyo, where you’ll stay for two nights. You come to China International Travel Service to book a flight. Also, you ask the agent to make a hotel reservation for your brief stop in Tokyo. You need a single room in the hotel which has easy access to the airport and the shopping center. But the room rate should be under USD40 per night. • Agent: You make an economy class reservation for your passenger on Flight CA981 to San Francisco by way of Tokyo. You also book a single room in Tokyo for your passenger with the room rate under USD40 per day.

  16. Situation II • Passenger: Mr. and Mrs. Brown have just arrived at the Hong Qiao International Airport. As they didn’t book a hotel room in advance they go to the airport hotel for check-in. They need a double room • Agent: You greet your passengers at the front desk and reserve a double room. Meanwhile you ask your passenger to fill in the form. Check the passports. Then you assign the room. Give the key to the passengers. The bellman helps with the baggage and then show the way to the door.
