The NBA recently released the 2006-07 schedule. There are some very interesting games on the schedule. The NBA is heading into its 61st season and basketball fans around the world are already licking their chops. The new season is just around the corner. The preseason begins October 5th. The first games that count are on October 31st--Halloween. There are two great games on the 31st--Phoenix at Los Angeles Lakers and Chicago at Miami. It's title defending time. On November 1st, we just might get to see the 2006 number 1 draft selection, Andrea Bargnani, in action. The Toronto Raptors are in New Jersey to take on the Nets. Also on the 1st, the Indiana Pacers are in Charlotte to take on the Hornets. Might we see Adam Morrison playing? Many felt that Morrison was the one player in the draft that could provide immediate help to his team. Hopefully, Charlotte will throw him right in so we can see what he's made of. November 2nd is going to be a great day. We get to enjoy a rematch of last season's Texas playoff battle between the Dallas Mavericks and the San Antonio Spurs. The game is in Dallas and will be on TNT at 8pm. The entire month of November is going to be exciting. We will have to see how many rookies get playing time, but November will hopefully provide enough of a glimpse that we can see the future of the NBA. Morrison is one of my favorites. Another player I am waiting to see is Brandon Roy. He was drafted 6th in the 2006 draft by the Portland Trailblazers. He could be very exciting. Roy is out of the University of Washington, and he gets to go "home" right away. On November 1st, the Portland Trailblazers are in Seattle to play the Sonics. The game tips off at 10pm. Might we see the 2006 10th overall pick by the Sonics, Mouhamed Saer Sene, in at center for a little action? Most likely not, but it would be nice to see why the 노노노노노 Sonics drafted Sene 10th. The match up on everyone's calendar each season is the Miami Heat and the Los Angeles Lakers. In what's become a tradition, these two teams are meeting on Christmas day--December 25th. The game will be on ABC at 2:30pm. It will be another chance for Shaq and crew to show why he was more valuable than Kobe. Finally, the rematch we all want to see, Dallas against Miami, is going down on January 21st. The game will be at 1pm on ABC. It's taking place in Miami and the Mavericks should be up for the game. Maybe they can shake off last season's disastrous meltdown. The 2006-07 NBA season is going to be a blast. Buckle up, it's almost here. Most Australian and US betting websites provide different NBA betting markets for every game. One of the most interesting and sometimes lucrative is the basketball players' performance betting markets. Apart from the game's superstars, most of the player's statistics fluctuate a significant amount every night. So, if you can determine when it is or isn't going to be a player's night, you can take advantage of the player's performance in the NBA prop markets. Here are a few tips for making your own decision regarding prop betting on player performance markets. In general, a few selected players are given an under/over on a different statistic, whether it be rebounds, points, assists, or a combination of two or more of them. Usually, the line is set around their season average for that specific star; for example, Luka Doncic's season average for points 28.8, so bookmakers may set his points line at 28.5. Moreover, some key factors can swing a player into having a bad or good performance on any night. The bookmakers are experienced enough at adjusting their lines if something significant happens. Still, sometimes, they go unseen, and, on a few occasions, you get a small window to jump on before they get updated. Injury The primary factor is injury. When a leading player in the team suffers from an injury, the bookmakers think that their replacement in the starting line-up must get most of their production. Although the replacement will indeed
increase the stats, at least two other players in the starting line-up will get an additional boost in production that sees them reach the over and vice-versa if an injured player returns to the line-up. An excellent case is when point guard Chris Paul left with an injury and Austin Rivers, his replacement in the starting line-up, receive a remarkable increase but also the likes of J.J. Reddick and Jamal Crawford improve their points and assist numbers in Chris's absence. These guys often go unnoticed by the bookmakers. Matchups Another essential factor in prop betting is matchups. Few teams defend some positions extremely well while giving production to other positions in spades. Usually, it is a safe bet in steering clear of the overs when your player is playing against teams like the Grizzlies or Spurs. They can able to defend every position well and rarely allow a single player to dominate the game. A team to look out for is the Boston Celtics. They can defend the guard positions very well with Avery Bradley and Marcus Smart, but on the other hand, they are the worst rebounding team. We saw Andre Drummond, the leading rebounder whose rebounding line is usually set around 14.5, claims 22 against the Celtics, which can be an easy win for the overs. The best thing to do when involving in such betting is to study the team stats and defense vs positions. There are various sites where you can get all the information.
