January Meeting Objectives • Prepare recommendation of next steps for • 802.11 WG • 802 LMSC • Prepare response to Liaison letter for approval by 802 ExCom • Liaison letter requested IEEE 802 LMSC to utilize DIS fast track and for IEEE-SA to become a Category A liaison to JTC1/SC6 • In Dallas, EC expressed its intent to operate under the PSDO instead of complying with the request • Prepare schedule to progress IEEE 802.11-2007, .11k/r/y through ISO/IEC fast track Jesse Walker, Intel Corporation

Submissions • 11-09/0075r2 – JTC1 Ad Hoc Agenda • 11-09/0076r0 – Liaison Letter from JTC1/SC6 to IEEE 802 LMSC • 11-09/0126r0 – Meeting minutes • 11-09/168r1 – draft IEEE 802 LMSC response to liaison letter from JTC1/SC6 • Draft response documents EC intent to operate under the PSDO, thus rejecting the SC6 requests • Will be circulated to Paul Nikolich/EC for comment • Final letter for WG/EC approval in March • 11-09/192r2 – liaison letter from IEEE 802 liaison to JTC1/SC6 Secretariat requesting study period documents • Liaison has not received this as expected from SC6 Resolution 6.1.5 Jesse Walker, Intel Corporation

  5. Progressing IEEE 802.11 Standards • Ad Hoc plans to recommend the WG to progress IEEE 802.11-2007 to ISO/IEC FDIS fast track ballot at the March meeting • We want deliver the response to the liaison letter, which notes our intent to use the PSDO’s FDIS fast track process, prior to progressing document • Process: • Send document to Terry deCourcelle, along with WG and EC motions approving the action • Outstanding Issue: • FDIS fast track a straight up/down vote, without comments • We want to find a way to elicit and receive comments for consideration during maintenance Jesse Walker, Intel Corporation

  6. Motion • Motion: Move to request the WG to approve the following motion: Move to authorize Jesse Walker to send the liaison letter found in doc 11-09/0192r0 to the ISO/IEC JTC1/SC6 Secretariat • Mover: Andrew Myles • Seconder: Tom Kurihara • Result: 7-0-0 Jesse Walker, Intel Corporation

March Meeting Planning • Objectives • Develop further positions, as needed • Respond to SC6 WG1 WLAN Security Study Period documents, if received • Approve completed Response to Liaison Letter from SC6 to IEEE 802 LMSC • Recommend progression of IEEE 802.11-2007 to ISO/IEC FDIS fast track ballot Jesse Walker, Intel Corporation
