One of the most studied nutrients, omega 3 fatty acids are widely known for their benefits to heart, brain, joints, skin and hair health. To elaborate a little, omega 3 fatty acids is further classified into alpha-linolenic acid (ALA), docosahexaenoic acid (DHA) and eicosapentaenoic acid (EPA). Omega 3 fatty acids are essential fatty acids but unfortunately not synthesised by the body & need to be supplemented by diet.
