Read the instructions The PTE Writing Section consists of the following instructions:  For summarizing written text, the summary must be a full, single sentence of no more than 75 words.  For writing an essay, make sure to write a minimum of 200 words, but no more than 300 words.  If you want to change your responses, use the cut, copy, and paste buttons on the screen. 2. Examine the writing tasks For the first writing task, skim the paragraphs and determine its overall idea. Look for keywords and key phrases in the text. Don’t forget to analyze the first and last sentences of each paragraph as they provide the main idea and conclusion of the text. For the second writing task, read and analyze the writing prompt. Underline the critical points that you found in the prompt. Doing this enables you to find out the key points you should cover in your essay. 3. Use a note-taking strategy For each writing task, use a note-taking technique to organize your ideas properly. The sentence method of note-taking is one of the most effective writing techniques that you can use during the exam. It helps you present your arguments in small chunks and allows you to cover a lot of ideas in a short amount of time. 4. Manage your time Most students enrolled in PTE Baguio find it hard to maximize their time in the writing test. To overcome this, check out these time management tips:

  3. Spend at least one minute examining each writing task  Spend at least three to five minutes organizing your notes  Don’t waste your time reading the paragraphs in the first writing task. 5.
