OVERVIEW: HOW TO BECOME A PTA: The journey to becoming an assistant to a physiotherapist is not as long as becoming a PT, but getting state-regulated certification requires rigorous training. The four basic steps to becoming a PTA are: The first step is to Enroll in the PTA program of a CAPTE accredited school Obtain a two-year associate degree through coursework and clinical instruction Pass the board exam (and all other state-specific requirements) Slides 02
WHAT DOES A PTA DO? Physical Therapist Assistant supports not only physiotherapists but also patients and clinics. Their main responsibilities are: PT Treatment Management and guide PT Treatment-Once the PT establishes a treatment plan for the patient, the PTA intervenes and assists in managing the treatment.
