Discovering Prešov: Slovakia's Historic Town and Cultural Hub

It is divided into four parts: Prešov, Šalgovík, Solivar, and Nižná Šebastová, with rivers such as Torysa and Sekčov flowing through. The town's history traces back to the Stone Age, with significant archaeological findings. Officially mentioned in 1247, Prešov gained city privileges in 1299. Its cultural significance grew with the establishment of the first school in 1429 and a Jewish synagogue in 1848. The town continues to be a vibrant cultural and historical center.
