  3. A dynasty is a ruling family; dynasties ruled China from 2000 B.C. to A.D. 1911. Emperor Gaozu (founder of the Han Dynasty) King Wu of Zhou (founder of Zhou Dynasty) Emperor Qin Shi Huang (founder of Qin Dynasty)

  4. Under the Han Dynasty, China grew wealthy because it developed extensive trade networks.

  5. A major trade route the Han Dynasty opened up was the Silk Road.

  7. The Han Dynasty also made Confucianism a part of Chinese society and established a civil service system. Confucius

  8. Under this system, Chinese men took exams to determine who was most qualified for government jobs.
