  1. Food Services: WarehousePulling Product Pulling products from shelves or bays in the warehouse can be tough on the back. Here are some tips to avoid a back injury. • Get as close to the product as possible! This is easy when the pallet is full but after a time, the load gets lower and farther away. Leave room between pallets to lift products from the side or back. • Store heavier items on an extra pallet. The most difficult lifts are those below knee level. Placing an extra pallet under the load can raise it up, which makes it a safer lift. • Stretch often and lift properly. Stretch out and warm the body up before your shift and after all breaks. Be sure to use proper body mechanics when lifting. Remember to “Squat, Lock, and Lift” to protect the back. Confidential-Client Use Only
