  1. Primitive Survivors - When Can We Start Again Trekking After COVID-19? Public lands are tremendously significant for our mental and physical well-being, especially now. But if we do not enjoy them responsibly during this health crisis, we will be putting our own health, and our neighbors’ health, at jeopardy. If you decide to head onto public lands in search of fresh air, solitude, and exercise, please do so safely and reverentially. Here are a few guidelines to help you get the outdoor time you need while keeping you and your fellow people safe and healthy.

  2. Primitive Survivors - When Can We Start Again Trekking After COVID-19? • Stay near to home. Enjoy public lands in your backyard, and do not risk health and safety by traveling needlessly. Keep in mind to check the managing agency’s website before you go to make sure it is open to the public at this time. Note that while many of the public lands are still accessible, state and federal agencies have closed campgrounds, facilities, and national parks in an effort to curb huge gatherings. • Avoid crowds. Stay away from hectic trails and trailheads and maintain at least six feet of distance between yourself and others. Do not meet friends at the trailhead, either – trek with those you reside with. • Avoid sitting on benches, using toilets, and using other facilities at trailheads and anywhere else on public lands. This might be a good time for a refresher on how to throw away your own waste when out on public lands.

  3. Primitive Survivors - When Can We Start Again Trekking After COVID-19? • Do not take needless risks. Our medical staff, hospitals, and first responders are facing, or are going to experience, a colossal workload. Let us not add to that load by getting ourselves injure. • Be a good steward. The public lands belong to all people and it is up to all of us to care for them, now more than ever. That means packing out your trash and following the other Leave-No-Trace standards.   • Respect closures. If trails, parks, or other sites are closed, go somewhere else.

  4. Primitive Survivors - When Can We Start Again Trekking After COVID-19? • Precautions to take during COVID-19 • Carry your own gears. As easy as it sounds. Make it a custom to carry your own gears like pants, shoes, cutlery, jackets, sleeping mat, bed sheet, and sleeping bags. This would avoid the opportunities of any type of infection. These are your basic requirements and also lightweight.  • Stay away from renting any equipment/gears. You will never know whether the gear you are renting has been sanitized or for that matter even cleaned. Several companies will follow the appropriate hygiene process while renting out these gears but we cannot be 100% sure on that. • Carry plenty of sanitizer and other hygienic products.  Yes, the trekking company will certainly give you the sanitization facilities but really it is better if you take your own.

  5. Primitive Survivors - When Can We Start Again Trekking After COVID-19? • Check for your body temperature before heading out for trekking. If you feel it is above normal, prefer to stay at home.  • Consult with your doctor before planning a trek. This is something we should always do but we do not. However, this time take some time out and get the consultation. • To get more details regarding camping gear to purchase and to borrowcheck the site of Primitive Survivors. Founded with the thought to equip every outdoor, survival and tactical activist, Primitive Survivorsis the company to depend on.
