  3. Customization of Learning Activity The following are our group’s three examples of content adapted to a range of learning activity frameworks. Learning Activity: inquiry based learning Learning outcome: describe the virus and its real versus perceived impact on your summer . on your summer. How is the disease transmitted? Why should you be concerned? Find 3 recent news articles that support your view of the threat and outline your findings.

Activity: • The mosquitoes have landed in Cereal Alberta • You are working in public health department, what steps can you take to advise people from your community to take to minimize the threat from West Nile virus? • Investigate the resources found in this web site http://www.hc-sc.gc.ca/english/media/releases/2003/2003_22.htm • Write a plan and present it to your class.

Content Area 2: Learning Activity Template 1: Quiz Game Learning outcome: To correctly answer questions that demonstrate your understanding of the process of Photosynthesis Activity: Quiz game with multiple choices and colors based on the question why is grass green • Students will read the web resource provided first http://www.ftexploring.com/me/photosyn1.html • Indicator of the student success in the quiz is a graphic depicting green grass when students answer wrong the grass turns to yellow then brown then dies and blows away

Content Area 2: Learning Activity Template 2: PHOTOSYNTHESIS Learning outcome: To create questions and corresponding appropriate answer that demonstrate your understanding of the process of Photosynthesis Group activity: • Students will read the web resource provided first http://www.ftexploring.com/me/photosyn1.html • The student will work in groups to develop the questions • The instructor will compile the questions into a jeopardy style game
