Enhancing Central Asian Innovation: ICT Transfer Concept for SMEs in Kazakhstan

This project led by Prof. Dr. habil. Sc. Ing. Leonids Novickis from Riga Technical University aims to support international cooperation with Central Asia by transferring European research results. The focus is on SMEs in Kazakhstan, with a technology transfer concept that includes modelling capability processes, creating showrooms for research findings, and establishing networks among universities, research facilities, and industry. The adaptation process considers business-related solutions in logistics, energy, and engineering while taking into account local social structures and service needs. The domains covered are logistics, energy, and engineering, with a focus on technology transfer concepts, products, and processes. EU research partners collaborate with Kazakh partners like Astana Innovations and BISAM, as well as partners from Uzbekistan and Tajikistan. The technology is applicable in areas such as transportation infrastructure, energy efficiency, green technology, and digital engineering for product and process development. This initiative supports Kazakhstan's innovation system and technology partnerships, aiming to enhance the implementation of international technology standards and foster the transfer of future technologies for SMEs. The project also promotes new networks between universities, research facilities, industries, and policymakers, with innovative tools and instruments provided by Astana Innovations and BISAM.
