Gravity • Gravity is the force that pulls bodies towards other bodies or objects. • Earth’s gravity pulls you towards Earth at the same time the Sun’s gravity pulls Earth towards it. • We don’t go flying towards the Sun because Earth’s pull is stronger. • Earth wants to float off into space but the sun will not let it.

  3. The Sun and Solar System • The solar system is made up of the Sun, eight planets, and other smaller bodies that orbit the Sun.

  4. Planets (4th grade challenge game) • Mercury • Venus • Earth • Mars • Jupiter • Saturn • Uranus • Neptune • A planet is a large body made up of rock, or gas that moves around a star.(sun)

  5. Orbit • Earth’s path as it travels around the Sun is called its orbit. • The moon is a body that moves in an orbit around a planet.
