SILICONE GEL-FILLED BREAST IMPLANTS Fifth generation ‘Gummy bear’ breast implant is most successful implant. 3 companies that sell these implants are Mentor, Allergan and Sientra.
USES OF BREAST IMPLANTS To increase the breast size. When breast augmentation needs to be corrected. For replacing the breast tissue with implants, when breast tissue is removed due to cancer.
COSTS Ranges between from $5,000 to $10,000. Depends on location, doctor and type of implant used. Usually not covered by medical insurance.
