  2. Routine checkups • Diagnostic tests • Periodic mammography • PAP smear tests • Colonoscopy and others Are important, for sure, but you cannot just rely on these tests alone to protect yourself from cancer.

  3. Women are health conscious and they normally do not ignore any sign or symptom that seems fishy and unusual. However, there are signs of cancer that women will often ignore, which leads to delayed detection and even delayed treatment.

  4. Do not rank among those thousands of cancer patients that realized the symptoms very late. If there’s anything alarming or a sign that seems unusual, speak to your doctor immediately. Cancer specialists point out that there is nothing better than early detection and diagnosis of cancer, and it is only an individual who could do it correctly. That’s how it is.

  5. Because you are the one who knows your body well, you will be the first one to notice any abnormal signs affecting your body.

  6. Noted here in are 5 signs of cancer that women ignore.

  7. Pain Any pain that lingers for a long time, though vague, but simply doesn’t subside, should be reported to a doctor. Although it is often said that most pains are not the early signs of cancer, you simply cannot ignore them. Pain that remains unexplained for weeks should be checked out.

  8. Difficulty Swallowing Swallowing difficulty is normally a consequence of sore throat. But, if you are having severe difficulty swallowing that has been persistent, you should get it checked. Even after making the necessary dietary changes and switching to liquids and soups, if the condition does not improve, it is indeed an alarming sign.

  9. Such conditions should not be ignored for long as it may aggravate. It could be an early sign of GI cancer.

  10. Changes in Lymph Nodes Lymph nodes often enlarge and cause pain, only to gradually subside on its own. However, if you have typically enlarged lymph nodes for weeks with no pain, it could be a cause of concern. When lymph node gets progressively larger, you cannot ignore the sign. See a doctor immediately to get it detected. Normally, doctors want to detect infections that could possibly explain the enlargement. However, if all results are fine and there is no infection, a biopsy may be ordered.

  11. Frequent Indigestion Women often ignore the signs of indigestion, even if it is occurring frequently. Indigestion is one of the most common complains in today’s fast food life, but it cannot be an excuse to ignore your health when indigestion occurs with no apparent reason, it shows a red flag.

  12. Take a note of the condition and see your doctor immediately for thorough diagnosis. Severe and frequent indigestion could be caused cancer of the throat, stomach, or esophagus.

  13. Changes in the mouth Smokers and tobacco consumers should be alert for any type of white patches, small or big, inside their mouth. White spots on the gums or inner mouth or tongue can be a sign of oral cancer. If the spots are not painful or they don’t make any difference, it should be more alarming. Take a note of it and report it to the doctor. Cancer specialists suggest that women should continue a constant self-examination and monitoring to know their body even better with time and age.
