  7. JPIAMR Planned actions JPIAMR Workshops 2019-2023

  8. ERA-Net AquaticPollutants Research Call, Year: 2020 • To fill existing key knowledge gaps regarding the environmental behaviour of new and emerging pollutants as well as pathogens in inland waters and the marine environment, and their impacts on ecosystems and human health • Collaboration of the three JPIs on Water, Oceans and Antimicrobial Resistance (AMR) • The AquaticPollutants proposal responds to the Horizon 2020 (H2020) Societal Challenge 5: Risks posed to human health and the environment by pollutants and pathogens present in water resources • No of funders = 32 • No. countriesparticipating = 24 • No. JPIAMR countriesparticipating = 18

  9. ERA-Net Transmission/Interventions Research Call, Year: 2021 • One Health interventions to prevent or reduce the development and transmission of antimicrobial resistance (AMR) • General focus of the call: Interventions and Transmission • Societal Challenge 1: Health, demographic change and wellbeing

  10. Proposed JPIAMR SRIA RoadmapTopics 2019-2023 Management Board Discussion

  11. Ranking 1 = lowpriority 2 = medium priority 3 = highpriority

  12. Ranking: 2.6 Optimising existing drugs or drug combinations for the treatment of infections and/or prevention of the emergence/spread of resistance caused by priority pathogens on the WHO and OIE lists, including and up to preclinical development Research Call, Year: 2022 THERAPEUTICS • Follows on from the 2nd JPIAMR Joint Call: Antimicrobial Resistance through the JPIAMR (projects funded 2016-2018) • Couldinvolve IMI • Link to AMR drugdevelopmenthub

  13. Ranking: 3 Development of innovative, digital technologies for collection of microbiological, epidemiological, genetic, antibiotic and surveillance data for detection of transmission and surveillance of AMR in One Health settings Research Call, Year: 2023 ALL PILLARS • Followup of 2019 Joint Research Call on Diagnosticsand Surveillance (projectsfunded 2020-2023) • Includefungalresearch

  14. Ranking: 2 Workshop: Harmonisation and technical validation of diagnostic tools bringing together researchers, industry, policymakers, regulators, insurance providers and funders Network Call: Multidisciplinary networks to address the harmonisation and technical validation of diagnostic tools Workshop, Year: XXXX SURVEILLANCE Network Call, Year: XXXXSURVEILLANCE • Followup of 2018 Network Call on Diagnosticsand Surveillance (projectsfunded 2020-2023) • Includefungalresearch • The ValueDx project has just started. This workshop could be organised jointly with ValueDx.

  15. Ranking WS: 1.8 Ranking NC: 1.8 Workshop: Linking the global users of therapeutics and non-antibiotic therapies to identify new and alternative methods to fight infections and AMRNetwork Call: Global capacity building programmes in the area of early drug discovery of new targets, compounds and alternatives addressing pathogens on the WHO list of priority pathogens Workshop/Network Call, Year: XXXXTHERAPEUTICS

  16. Ranking: 2 Identifying and developing best practices in innovative technological, policy, social, economic and regulatory approaches to mitigate the transmission of antibiotic resistant organisms, genetic elements and residues to, from and within the environment Network Call, Year: XXXX ENVIRONMENT

  17. Ranking: 2 Research methodologies to better define and quantify transmission routes of antimicrobial resistant organisms and mobile genetic elements to identify knowledge gaps in a One Health context Network Call, Year: XXXX TRANSMISSION

  18. Ranking WS: 1.8 Ranking RC: 1.8 Workshop: Development of a globally integrated One Health surveillance system of antibiotic resistant genes and bacteria, and antibiotic usage with the goal of inter-sectoral coordination including the healthcare setting and community Research Call: Development of a globally integrated One Health surveillance system of antibiotic resistant bacteria and antibiotic usage Workshop, Year: XXXX SURVEILLANCE Research Call, Year: XXXX SURVEILLANCE

  19. Not ranked Collection of robust quantitative and qualitative data to develop risk prediction models Network Call, Year: XXXXENVIRONMENT

  20. Not ranked Building bridges between One Health areas to develop guidance and shared measures and standards to assess and implement interventions Network Call, Year: XXXXINTERVENTIONS

  21. Ranking: 1.7 Harmonisation of non-antibiotic approaches and strategies to replace, control or minimise the use of antibiotics in early life animal husbandry Workshop, Year: XXXXINTERVENTIONS TRANSMISSION • Should be followed by a research call to have the impact this topic requires • Introduce a working group with a focus to identify best practises in this field • Include the environmental impact of animal husbandry • Should be opened to southern partners • Question: should it be followed by a network call? Then a research call?

  22. Ranking: 1.6 Early drug discovery for capacity building in the discovery of new targets, compounds and alternatives Network Call, Year: XXXXTHERAPEUTICS • There are also gaps in research on how to optimise and ease clinical trials for new therapeutics, we suggest to include these in this action. The risk of emergence of resistance to the new compounds alternatives should be considered.

  23. New topic Proposed by SAB Hackathon: Brainstorming session to find new ways to tackle AMR Out of the Box, Year: XXXXOne Health • Juniors (e.g. postdocs) will organise and invite ‘unusual suspects’ (a broader audience) • Travel funds should be given to young people • This could take the form of workshops to address certain questions • This would enhance the generation of innovative ideas and solutions • Could potentially lead to a future JPIAMR action, e.g. research call, network call, workshop
