I R A N I P O S T M U N F I L M S | D X B M A X T H E F I L M SYNOPSIS ‘IRANI’ is a Tamil movie about an Indian spy, who on a visit to Sri Lanka in the year 2001 along with his wife and kid, gets mugged, and has his wife and daughter kidnapped. However, he escapes, but he is injured and taken by local foresters to a gem mine in the remote mountain jungles of Sri Lanka. There, he is forced to excavate gem stones from the confined underground mines in the jungle. After 20 years of struggle, he escapes from the mine, and makes the strenuous climb to the mountain tea estate village. The story then travels in this picturesque country village neighbouring the tea estates, where he last travelled with his wife and kid. It is in this village, he rebuilds himself, traces the clues, and plans to avenge the killers. Will he be able to track the killers? Are they alive, or have they aged and become unrecognizable? P O S T M U N F I L M S | D X B M A X P R O J E C T S PERFORMERS ACTORS ARTISTS CAST RAJKUMAR Rajkumarbegan his career with Balaji Tharaneetharan's critically acclaimed NKPK (Naduvula Konjam Pakkatha Kaanom - 2012), portraying Balaji in a film inspired by real life events. The film became a sleeper hit, with the actor gaining reviews for his portrayal. In 2013, Rajkumar appeared in the fantasy comedy Naveena Saraswathi Sabatham, portraying one of four trapped youngsters. The film opened to mixed reviews and had an average run at the box office. He was later seen playing a small role in Karthik Subbaraj’s‘Jigarthanda’, playing the friend of Siddharth. He also played a role in ‘Vedalam’ as Arjun's friend. He reunited with Balaji Tharaneetharan and the cast of Nadavula Konjam Pakkatha Kaanom in ‘Seethakaathi’ (2018). ‘Irani’ (2024) is his latest movie.
