  1. SVD software meeting summaryJan. 14th, 2004 • Alignment (Takahashi/Rozanska) • offline software (T.Hara/Karim/Onuki) • J/psi yield (Shibata) • IP resolution (Kibayashi) • discussions for things to do

  2. Alignment (Takahashi/Rozanska) Takahashi san produced new alignment constant with the latest CDC constant. Helix parameter resolution and correlation of the parameters were checked. The resolutions of five parameters are almost consistent between new and old constants, where the old constants were made with the previous CDC constants. The systematic correlations between helix parameters were significantly reduced, except drho vs phi0, +-10um variation was seen. It was suggested to check those things for CDC-only and SVD-only tracks, too. Maria san compared alignment constant between Tokyo and Krakow. While the previous version of Tokyo constants agree with that of Krakow, significant difference for y shift is found for the latest constants. Takahashi san pointed out the she may use the old geometry file which did not reflect the change of ladder radius due to the change of the end-ring radius.

  3. Offline software status (T.Hara/Karim/Onuki) T.Hara san reported that some programs had bugs. addbg: datsvd_hit.amp number used in MC is different by 1 strip from that in data. recsvd solves the difference, so end-users didn't care that. This cause the asymmetric distribution of the vertex resolution in higher BG case. The bug fixed addbg was installed in the latest library b20040111. ENC table in getsvd2_hybrid.dat is replaced with those in DB. l0svd: it did not treat multi-L0 hit properly. The fixed version is installed in library b20030807_1500. Karim san checked the modified addbg resolved the large shift of resolution. It was found that the resolution distribution peaked at 0 as expected with default BG level. Onuki san check occupancy dependence on the clustering threshold with 3, 3.5 and 4 sigma. There is no difference. It is suggested that he should check the resolution and occupancy with lower threshold.

  4. J/psi yield (Shibata) He reconstructed J/psi events with electron-positron and muon-pares. The J/psi yield decaying e+e- seems to be lower than expected. Cross checks will be done in the charmonium meeting. IP resolution (Kibayashi) She evaluated IP resolution with the latest alignment constant. Basically there is no difference between the latest and previous results. Although statistics of MC events is small, MC studies shows that the rphi resolution is not improved so much, while z resolution is improved by twice. This tendency is seen in data. Mis-alignment and BG effect on the IP resolution should be investigated with large statistics.

  5. Things to do for SVD2 (all) • study on tracking (mainly done by Karim san) • reduce the mis-association • low momentum track finding and fitting. • alignment (Takahashi san, Maria san, Kibayashi san and Ishino) • improvement on algorithm • check the systematic biases (delta z bias ...) • vertex • improve tag side vertex • optimization of parameter • new algorithm from Vienna? • track selection • optimization of track requirement • requirement of two z and one rphi hit is good for SVD2?

  6. things to do • estimation of spatial resolution • with the same method Matsubara san did for SVD1.2 • scale error • applying the same method in last year done by T.Higuchi san, K.Hara san and Kataoka san. • Ks reconstruction • optimization of selection criteria ... • will be done by Physics group • resolution functions • parameters will be tuned by K.Hara san and Kusaka san.
