  19. It is the quantity that you will be given when you give generously to others.Cf. Prov 1:5; 3:2; 9:9, 11; 10:22, 27.

  20. The Contrast!

  21. The Contrast! “There is one who withholds”CHASAK, חָשַׂךְ

  22. When you do not faith rest in God it results in you holding back what you should actually be giving away.

  23. “What is justly due” MIN, מִן YOSHER, ישֶׁר“Straightness, uprightness, or equity.”

  24. The type of giving the believer should practice, which is not being practiced by this reversionistic believer.

  25. “Results only in want”AHK MACHSOR, מַחְסוֹר, “Want, need, lack or poverty.” To live in a constant state of need, Prov 6:11; 11:24; 14:23; 21:5; 28:27.

  26. Deut. 15:7f, “If there is among you a poor person... you shall not harden your heart... but you shall open your hand to him, and lend him sufficient for his need, whatever it may be.”

  27. If you do not help those in need when you have the means to do so, you will become like them.Cf. 2 Cor 9:6-8

  28. “A man there was, though some did count him mad, the more he cast away, the more he had.”

  29. “A man there was, though some did count him mad, the more he cast away, the more he had.” “He that bestows his goods upon the poor shall have as much again, and ten times more.” (John Bunyan, “The Pilgrim’s Progress”)

  30. Principle: Sowing seed is done at the beginning of the season, so give before the need arises.

  34. To be “fattened” connotes wealth, abundance, full satisfaction, and health, Cf. Deut 31:20 with Prov 13:4; 15:30; 28:25

  35. The believer who gives generously while faith resting in God will himself be generously given to by the Lord; in this life.
