  3. Exploring • Balboa explored the Thickest Jungle, Pacific Ocean • Crocodile Infested Chages River • Fever Ridden Swamps • Balboa explored from the 1500s to 1518 • He was 43 when he reached his exploration

  4. Interesting Facts • Balboa put together a group of 100 Spaniards • And 1,000 natives • And for more than 2 weeks they worked there way through the thickest jungle • A Spanish conquer and explorer • and was the first European to see the eastern shore of the pacific ocean

  5. Died • Balboa died in January 1519, in Acla, Costilla de Oro • Balboa died a year after he got back from his expedition • Balboa was a great explorer the Panamanian coin, the balboa, is named after him today • When the panama canal was constructed , the city at the entrance was named balboa
