    2. Why Online Recruitment?  The university’s Sixth Decade Plan calls for aggressive growth over the next five years. At the same time, we expect increasing retirement rates. One way we’ll do this is by leveraging technology to deliver HR services such as myCareer@UWaterloo.     3. myCareer@UWaterloo Launch on October 20, 2010 myCareer@UWaterloo features two new tools Talent Acquisition Manager is the tool used by hiring managers Candidate Gateway is the tool used by job applicants   myCareer@UWaterloo - a part of myHRinfo - is an enterprise wide management system to be launched on October 20, 2010. Positions will be posted as of then. myCareer@UWaterloo is an important part of the University’s commitment to support all employees to manage and develop rewarding careers at UWaterloo. myCareer@UWaterloo is an online hiring management tool that replaces the current paper-based recruitment process now in use. It is designed to make hiring faster and more efficient for managers, HR Advisors (formerly Staff Relations Coordinator) and job applicants. myCareer@UWaterloo features two new tools: Talent Acquisition Manager is the tool used by hiring managers to create job openings, screen and track applicants, view candidate resumes, schedule interviews and create authorizations. Electronic Application Information – once you have applied for your first position, all information will be there the next time – licences, certificates, memberships, education, work experience, training, personal data – name, address, email address, phone numbers myCareer@UWaterloo is completely confidential. Access to an applicant’s information is restricted to the job opening’s hiring team. All access to the system is password protected. myCareer@UWaterloo is an important tool to support all employees to manage and develop their career at the University. It is part of a growing suite of career management services at the University of Waterloo that also includes training and development opportunities through OHD and the Centre for Career Action.     9. What the Hiring Manager sees Some of you may also be hiring managers – an idea of what they all see online when looking at applicants. Type – external vs internal The disposition – applied, reject, screen, interview, withdrawn – only hiring manager sees them. Applicant see applied and not applied (draft) Reject – why?
