  3. Located in East Houston, NSMS is one of five middle schools within the Galena Park ISD.Since opening its doors in 1956, NSMS has been committed to academic excellence for grades seven and eight. Recently NSMS has improved from an "Academically Acceptable" campus in 2007-2008, a "Recognized" campus in 2008-2009, and an “Exemplary” campus in 2009-2010, and an “Exemplary” this last 2010-2011 school year.
