  1. Dwarka Expressway – Northern Peripheral Road to Connect Delhi to Gurgaon Union Highways & Road Transport Minister Nitin Gadkari recently sanctioned the construction of the Northern Peripheral Road (NPR), also called the Dwarka Expressway, to connect New Delhi with the city of Gurgaon in Haryana. The Haryana Urban Development Authority (HUDA) will hand over the land on the Gurgaon side of the road to the National Highways Authority of India (NHAI) after completing the land acquisition and rehabilitation process. The Northern Peripheral Road (NPR) or Dwarka Expressway is an 18-km-long, 150-m-wide road meant to connect Delhi to Gurgaon and decongest the National Capital Region (NCR). It runs from the sub-city of Dwarka in South West Delhi to the Kherki-Daula village in the State of Haryana. At present, there are only two roads connecting the national Capital and the technology hub – the Mehrauli-Gurgaon road and the new NH8. Traffic gridlocks on the NH8 have become a common sight and are causing immense trouble for thousands of motorists commuting from Delhi to Gurgaon for work. The expressway was conceptualised to solve this problem by providing an alternate route to Gurgaon. In addition, with the expressway opening up, several new residential sectors would get a new lease of life due to smooth connectivity. The Dwarka expressway is designed under five different packages: The first package is 5.3 km long from Shiv Murti to railway under-bridge (RuB) near Dwaraka. The second one is 4.2 km long from RuB to the borders of Haryana. The third stretch is 10.2 km long from the Haryana border to Basai railway over-bridge (RoB). The fourth one is 8.77 km long from Basai RoB to NH8–SPR intersection. And the last one is 5 km long from Dwarka expressway through tunnel. The 8-lane elevated structure, Dwaraka expressway, will ensure seamless and safe movement of traffic between Delhi and Gurgaon and also help in decongesting the Delhi–Gurgaon expressway. #DwarkaExpressway #NorthernPeripheralRoadHaryana #UrbanDevelopmentAuthority
