JMIT - A Profile Seth Jai Parkash Mukand Lal Institute of Engineering & Technology (JMIT) is located in rural, pollution free and green habitat of Radaur at a distance of 18 km from Yamuna Nagar and 28 km from Pipli, Kurukshetra. The Institute was established in the year 1995 by The Ved Parkash Mukand Lal Educational Society (Regd. in the year 1987). Sh. Ashok Kumar, the Chairman of the Society and the Governing Body, a leading industrialist and philanthropist of Northern India manages 27 Institutions of Knowledge & Service spread over the states of Haryana and Uttar Pradesh. A Board of Governors consisting of persons of eminence from the industry and academia oversee the functioning of the Institute. The Institute has been approved by All India Council for Technical Education (AICTE) and is affiliated to Kurukshetra University, Kurukshetra. The Institute runs professional academic programmes of B.Tech., M.Tech, MCA & MBA and there are over 3000 students studying on the campus. Training For Employment The vision and mission of Seth Jai Parkash Mukand Lal institutions is to provide best infrastructure facilities, academics and additional inputs in personality development, language and software proficiency. In line with the vision a special feature of the Institute is the 'Beyond Academics Training' to all students. Two state-of-the-art Language Labs, special modules of Personality Development and Training for Employability are the potential strengths of the Institute. OTHER AMENITIES Recreation room, solar water heating system, gym, Dish connection, evening library up to 8 p.m. and internet lab., book- stationery shop, photocopy facility, laundry man and adequate cloakroom facility during vacations are also available. The Institute developed in its modest existence of twenty years into an excellent resource base in the form of a Modern Computerized Library with more than 51176 books, 3325 CDs/Video Lectures, 111 National Print Journals/Magazines; IEEE, J-Gate (JET), J-Gate (Mgt.), Science Direct, DELNET Pro-Quest, McGrawHill, ASTM Digital Library, Springer (EEC) and Springer (ME) E-Journal packages. Book Bank facilities for all. It is member of DELNET for availing of ILL (Inter Library Loan) and DDS (Document Delivery Services). Library remains open from 09.25 am to 08.00 pm on all working days and upto 02.00 and during examination days. MODERN TEACHING METHODS The Institute has understood the need of imparting education by means of audio- visual aids f o r a t t aining be t t er understanding of concepts. The teaching methodology has been empowered by the Smart Classes that have been made available in every department. The Language Labs & PDP section grooms the s t uden t s s peaking , writing a nd presentation skills so as to enable them to take on the challenges of the professional world. HOUSING The Institute provides separate hostel facility to both boys and girls in its three Boy's hostels (742 seats) and two Girl's hostels (493 seats). The hostel rooms are fully equipped with adequate furniture & fixtures and provides safe and secure living environment to the resident student. Fire extinguishers are also installed. CAFÉ The Institute has a spacious cafeteria within the campus for the students. Separate area for girls students and also for staff members is provided in the cafe. The cafe is also under CCTV surveillance. 12

  11. Laurels UNIVERSITY RESULTS The university results of the institute are appreciable and the Institute has the distinction of producing university toppers. Till date the Institute has produced 20 gold medallists. CROWNING GLORY Our students Jalaj Sharma (Batch 2005-09) joined Indian Administrative Services in 2014. SPORTS The Institute has one of the highest participation in Inter College Tournament among all the Technical / Engineering Colleges affiliated to K.U., Kurukshetra. In 2014-15 our students bagged university position in 10 different playoffs. NATIONAL FESTS/COMPETITIONS : • Our students have bagged position in Vogue Fashion Parade, Solo Dance & Duet Dance held in IIT Roorkee in October 2014. • Our Student won the "Painting without brush" event in Confluence Fest held at NIT, Kurkushetra in February, 2015. • Our students won positions in events - HTML Web Designing, Software Development, Animated PPT at GNKITM, Yamuna Nagar in February 2015.
