Assessment and Reflection
My name is Daniel Ian Travis. I’m 12 years old, and my birthday is March 18th. I’m in the 6th grade, and I attend Price Elementary School. I have two nicknames Dan and Dano.
I live on 6923 S. Vernon. I live with my mother, two brothers, and my stepfather. My brother, Ethan is 3 years old. My oldest brother, Shawn is 13 years old.
Ethan is spoiled rotten. He gets everything he wants such as toys, video games, and candy. He is very intelligent and has the vocabulary of a five-year-old. He’s always up running around creating chaos for everyone in the house.
Shawn thinks the definition of teenager is grown. Well that’s what his actions and thoughts display. He thinks he’s too old to be around me. He gets an attitude about every little thing.
I love sports cars. I have a collection of model cars. I continue to add every chance I can. I plan to have as many cars as I can from my model collection.
I have five brothers, two sisters, and 12 cousins. I only live with two of my brothers. I don’t live with any of my sisters. All of my siblings that are children, I visit them on the weekends.
My oldest brother is Shawn, which is 13. At this point of age we argue a lot. He thinks the definition of teenager is grown up. I think that since he’s a teen now he wants more space.
My youngest brother is Eric. He is only 3 months old. I don’t know much about him except everyone says we look alike. My stepbrother is Romealle but I rarely see him.
Travon is 5, but I haven’t seen him since he was 3. Ethan is 3 and he is one of my brothers who live with me. He is the biggest pest in the house.
My stepsister is 13 and her name is Vanessa. She doesn’t live with us, but she visits often. She lives with my stepbrother Romealle.
My youngest sister is 10 and her name is Shay. She moved to Ohio with her mother. I have lots of cousins and their names are Allen, Tesla, Jaqau, Denzel, Jordan, Tabitha, China, Torries, Cydney, Paige, Brian, and Brandon.
My most favorite thing to do is play sports. One of the things I do on my leisure time is play basketball or football. When I’m old enough or when I’m discovered I’ll be in the NFL.
Sometimes I read books that are interesting. I also like to draw cartoon characters of my own. My interest in writing is writing poetry or novels. I believe that I’m a great writer.
My outside hobbies are going to the show or mall on weekends or vacations. I might go with some friends or my relatives. I usually go to a relative’s house on the weekend.
November 2001 – March 2002
During the school year I have been involved in multiple activities such as newspaper, music, and FBI. I attended different programs during and after school. The most exciting program was FBI.
From November to March I attended FBI. I met lots of agents and learned lots of their jobs. It was very fun and interesting. My favorite part of the program was fingerprinting.
After school I was on the newspaper staff. I used computers to type papers and do other special task. I learned more about computers from coming 2 days a week. I might want to be a graphic designer when I’m older from my experience.
I attended music for a short time. I had to quit, because it was interfering with my schoolwork. It was fun while it lasted.

Welcome to the exciting and wonderful world of sixth grade in Room 305! As students in this class, you will use knowledge gained in prior grades to actively participate in new learning experiences… My goal is to create a learning environment that is comfortable and safe that will result in the increased reading and writing skills of students. Activities, tasks and projects for the school year have been thoroughly planned to challenge students. The design of this class is to integrate all areas of the curriculum applying Howard Gardner’s theory of the Multiple Intelligences emphasizing reading and writing.
