  1. Photography - The Advantages of Using a Tripod Anyone can take good photos as action camera technology has advanced very much just about. Not good photos necessarily, because that's more to do with subject matter, composition, and the effective use of shadow and light etc. However, it's the humble tripod if there's one item that helps in taking better shots. Many of us believe that helping us stop camera shake, a tripod is nothing but an extra item that. The most obvious use of a tripod is that in those situations where longer exposure times are essential, it avoids camera shake and affords stability to the camera by the operator. So when the exposure time could be seconds or minutes or sometimes hours in length, we have no chance of avoiding camera shake. Examples of these times are: Night shots: vehicle movement, firework displays, star trails, cityscapes, and moon shots where blurring the lights is sought. Motion blur: ocean wave movement, sports action, and waterfalls. Low light conditions in the absence of flash. We all like to produce sharp photos. Especially if we use remote shutter releases or timer delays, the tripod assists in obtaining clear focus, as even the smart camera may shake when pressing the shutter button. When making delayed action movies, the tripod is a boon talking about timer delays. At predetermined intervals, several thousand or hundred individual photos of an object are shot and to give those amazing movies of flowers opening, decaying objects or cloud movement, they are run together. For each shot the camera not only needs to be in the same position but to be steady. Using the timer delay on the camera, the tripod is also pretty useful in setting up a group with you in it as the photographer. Not necessarily in an obvious way, instead of taking instant hand held snap shots wherever we are, it gives us time to compose our shots, which is one way that a tripod is useful.

  2. Action camera placement is another less obvious use of a tripod. With a tripod, capacity to capture greater than head level or low level shots can be achieved without having to climb a step ladder or lie on the ground. Tripods can also double up as stands, microphone stands, flash units or light stands for reflectors and are also versatile in that they. You can use it for various heights. A final note is that have you considered a monopod if you find the tripod a bit of an encumbrance to carry around? These are nearly as good as tripods and can double up as a walking stick. Snapping open in the fixed leg position and folding down to the size of a ruler when needed, there are other tripods on the market.
