The problem with crisis management and tight deadlines is that while they can be fun, they can often lead to:

  • High levels of stress
  • No feeling of having any free time
  • Continually feeling tired or exhausted
  • Occasionally failing to complete projects or missing deadlines

      • Students tend to have difficulty concentrating
      • May not understand the content of the chapter

  • Pay attention to the first and last sentences of paragraphs and to any special formatting that is utilized

  • Read in 50 minute blocks of time, taking short breaks in between

  • Requires you to be prepared before every class, not just for exams
  • Ask the questions in class everyone else wants to but doesn’t
  • Ask instructors to speak slower or go back over material to help you understand more fully

    • Do this before you begin homework to get your thinking focused in the right direction
