  3. 4th grade details • Students are responsible for recording homework in their planners • Math homework & Reading 20 minutes nightly complete logs (3 entries per week) • Communication Methods- student planners, email, weekly newsletter, 4th grade website, 4th grade facebook page • Bi-weekly progress updates i.e. grades and/or behavior • T-shirts worn on all field trips ($5)

  4. 4th grade details cont In Fourth Grade, students are tested in Writing, Reading and Math. Passing scores are needed in each of these areas to meet 4th grade expectations for promotion There is no summer program to make up low test grades. • Writing- 4 or higher on an expository AND narrative • Reading- Level 2 or higher and grade level benchmarks* • Math- Level 2 or higher and grade level benchmarks* *chapter tests and/or unit tests assess skills throughout the year

  6. Trip details • Charter bus ride with Astro bus company • Meals: --Lunch provided through Firehouse Subs --Dinner on St. George Street at your group’s restaurant choice. Students will need to bring about $10 for dinner. There’s more………

  7. sites • Castillo de San Marcos Fort • Pirate & Treasure Museum • Sightseeing Trolley Tour • Old Florida Museum • Old Jail • Colonial Quarter • Free time to visit Historic downtown area with shopping. Students are allowed to bring money for souvenirs but are responsible for their own money.

  9. Chaperones • If you are interested in chaperoning please let your child’s teacher know as soon as possible. A limited number of chaperones will be able to ride the bus. All other parents that would like to chaperone will have the option of driving or carpooling. • Notes:-- this is a 4th grade trip, designated for 4th graders, all adults planning to accompany us must pay through Conley. Siblings and other family members under the age of 18 are not permitted to join us on this trip. 18 and up must be a paying chaperone.
